Skyrim Anniversary Editionfeatures quite a lot of Creation Club content, including an addition that centers around an artifact known as the Bittercup. While working on this Creation, players will be forced to decide between filling the Altar of Fortune, the Altar of Power, and the Altar of Nothing, with each altar providing some specialSkyrimBittercup rewards.

Before getting into the specific rewards associated with each altar, it is important to note thatSkyrimplayers will receive the Bittercup regardless of the option that they choose. When used, this item permanently increases a player’s highest stat by 20 and decreases their lowest stat by 20. While gaining 20 health, stamina, or Magicka may not be extremely significant in the long run, it is still a nice boost to receive from a piece ofSkyrimCreation Club content.

Updated August 02, 2025 by Erik Petrovich: The Skyrim Bittercup quest is a callback to the third Elder Scrolls game where the same item, the Bittercup, was central to a side quest. The Bittercup that Skyrim players can collect is a little bit different than its Morrowind counterpart, though, in part thanks to three branching questlinesdetermined by the player’s decisionto end a lead-in quest. As such, there are three Skyrim Bittercup rewards associated with each of the three branching questlines. No matter the choices, players always receive the Bittercup itself at the end of the questline, and it’s a worthwhile item to find as it gives a permanent boost to one stat while permanently lowering another.

When you get here head all the way back to the end of the Inn to find the innkeeper’s room. Here you’ll see a note titled “Mysterious Affair”. This note leads the player to a place called the Roadside Ruins just north of town. This quest can be started at any level with no prerequisites, though it tends to be better later on when it takes a long time to level up.
