With so many characters and familiar faces crossing over in the upcomingSpider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland and the other stars of the film are already predicting certain big names that could join the MCU, particularlyDunestar Timothée Chalamet.
In theSpider-Mancomics, Harry Osborn the son of Norman Osborn / The Green Goblin and was previously played by James Franco in theSam Raimi trilogyand by Dane DeHaan inThe Amazing Spider-Manfilms. While the character has been an important figure in Peter Parker’s life in both the comics and film franchise, Harry Osborn has yet to appear or even be mentioned in the MCU.

In a new interview with the Associated Press, Holland (Peter Parker / Spider-Man), Zendaya (MJ), and Jacob Batalon (Ned) dwelled on which role Chalamet could fill in the ongoing cinematic universe if he were to join. “I don’t know. People want him to be [Harry] Osborn,” said Chalamet’s formerDuneco-star Zendaya. “I think he would be a good friend of Spider-Man. Or a foe of Spider-Man!” Holland would then go on to share his thoughts, saying, “I think it would be good to bring him in as a [friend] and then he kind of becomes bad, and then he can be a villain. He’d be a good villain.” “I think so too,” replied Zendaya, “which is funny ‘cause he’s so nice.”
The 25-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, who has made a name for himself in the last few years by starring in films like Greta Gerwig’s acclaimedLittle Womenand most recentlyDenis Villeneuve’sDuneepic, recently spoke with Time magazine, as he reflected on his experience with fame, his acting approach, and the important advice he has been given so far in his early rise to stardom. “One of my heroes — I can’t say who or he’d kick my ass — he put his arm around me the first night we met and gave me some advice,” Chalamet said to Time, “No hard drugs and no superhero movies.”
Although he may stay away from superhero films, for now, Chalamet previously said that he once auditioned to play theSpider-Man role that ended up going to Holland. “I read twice and I left sweating in a total panic,” Chalamet told The Hollywood Reporter then. “I called my agent, [UTA’s] Brian Swardstrom, and I said, ‘Brian, I thought about this a lot and I have to go back and knock on that door and read again,’ and he told me the story of Sean Young and how in an attempt to become Catwoman had scared everyone away when she showed up at the studio gates in costume.”
With the growing amount of Marvel content being produced, especially with the countless series and spin-off projects based on various side characters, there are plenty of roles to fill, so don’t rule the possibility of Chalamet joining the MCU at some point down the road.
