After spending multiple titles experiencing the lives of force users and simple soldiers,Star Warsfans are being treated to a very different type of adventure this year. In August,Star Wars Outlawswill once again whisk them away to the galaxy far, far away, but this time, they will be exploring it through the eyes of a scoundrel. And for the first time, they will also be able to traverse a massive open world, withmultipleStar Warsplanetswaiting to be explored.
While fan-favorite planets like Tatooine and Canto Bight will play a major role inStar Wars Outlaws, there are plenty of planets that deserve the spotlight. Although Ubisoft has seemingly revealed the majority of the explorable planets, there is still room for one more. Even if it is through DLC,Star Wars Outlawsfeels like it was tailor-made to finally do Batuu justice. So, hopefully, it is given that chance.

Galaxy’s Edge Could Play a Major Role in Star Wars Outlaws
Galaxy’s Edge Has Yet to Make a Major Appearance
Not everyone may recognize the world of Batuu, as it has never really appeared inanyStar Warsmovie or show. Instead, the world has been relegated to novels and comics, with it appearing in titles likeThrawn: Alliancesand its very own novel,Star WarsGalaxy’s Edge: Black Spire.Outside of that, it also showed up asSims 4DLC and in its very own VR game. Besides that, it has been relatively absent, yet Batuu might actually be one of the most important planets in theStar Warsgalaxy right now.
Batuu is actually the planet that Disney built two entire theme park areas around, both in Disneyland and Disney World. Specifically, these two areas arethemed after Black Spire Outpost, which is the planet’s central hub. Parkgoers can walk its many winding streets, experience the food of Docking Bay 7, purchase all sorts ofStar Warsmemorabilia from many unique stores, interact with some of the most iconicStar Warscharacters, and even take a photo in front of the Millennium Falcon itself. It is truly a treat for fans of the franchise, yet Disney has done little to expand upon it.
Star Wars Outlaws Feels Like the Perfect Place for Batuu
Unlike other theme parks, Galaxy’s Edge is actually supposed to be canon tothe greaterStar Warsgalaxy. As such, the entire area is themed after the sequel era, and Disney does not allow characters that would never go there to appear for meet-and-greets. Additionally, everything happening within has a canon reason for happening, with most of it explained in the companion novel. Because of that, it would make a ton of sense for the planet to appear in other media in some fashion. But, for some reason, it has not yet.
However,Star Wars Outlawscould fix all of that. The game will finally put players in the shoes of a scoundrel in the Outer Rim, and Batuu is the perfect place for scoundrels to hide out. It is actually well known for being a seedy smuggler’s haven, soKay Vess would likely fit right in. Along with that, since the game is fully open world, it would be the perfect chance for Disney to show off what Black Spire Outpost looks like within theStar Warsuniverse. As of now, fans have only really seen it through the lens of a theme park.
Galaxy’s Edge has existed since 2019 and was likely being planned much earlier than that, which makes its appearance in aStar Warsproject long overdue. So, even if it has to be in DLC,Star Wars Outlawsreally does seem like the best place for it. It has pretty much everything one would expect from a game featuring Batuu, so now all Ubisoft needs to do is give Kay Vess a reason to visit it. And if it cannot figure one out this time around, then a possible sequel really needs to jump on this opportunity.
