Summary
OneStarfieldmodder has blended Bethesda’s space-faring RPG with another mega-popular sci-fi franchise,Star Wars, by adding Greedo to the game as a companion. Since its September launch,Starfieldhas seen a large community of modders creating an array of interesting and useful mods. Some of these mods aim to improve some ofStarfield’s shortcomings, like adding ammo crafting and a planet resource database. Others add cool crossovers to the game, such asHalo’s Master Chief armor or a variety of aliens from theStar Warsuniverse.
Everyone’s favorite Rodian bounty hunter, Greedo, made his debut appearance early on in the very firstStar Warsfilm. When a united Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, C-3P0, and R2D2, headed to Tatooine’s dangerous Mos Eisley Cantina in search of a pilot, they stumbled uponthe legendary Han Soloin a spat with Greedo, who was tragically too slow on the draw. In the decades since, Greedo has become somewhat of a fan-favorite character among the fandom, even though he appeared only briefly.

WithStarfield’s universe filled with many different groups of space pirates, thieves, and bounty hunters, it seems Greedo would fit right in. OneStarfieldmodder, Crozzbow, took it upon themselves to add the Rodian bounty hunter to the game in the form of a mod namedGreedo - Star Wars Companion, available on Nexus Mods. Greedo takes the place of recruitable companion Lyle Brewer and can fittingly be found in Aggie’s Bar,situated inStarfield’s Akila City, a very similar type of town to Mos Eisley. While not noted by Crozzbow, it can be assumed that Greedo inherits Lyle Brewer’s skills, which include Xenosociology, Particle Beams, and Shotgun Certification.
Greedo Has Been Modded Into Starfield
Greedo comes complete with his own voice, outfit, spacesuit, and DT-12 heavy blaster pistolfrom theStar Warsuniverse. In an awesome twist, players will even be able to craft and wear Greedo’s outfit and spacesuit themselves using one ofStarfield’s industrial workbenches. Crozzbow warns players who have characters with a larger build, as Greedo’s outfit and spacesuit are designed for skinny character models, and can cause clipping if equipped to a larger character.
Sadly, the DT-12 isn’t usable by players, but Crozzobw recommends installing his other mod, named Arms of Mandalore, which replaces several ofStarfield’s weapons with blasters fromStar Wars' universe, including the DT-12 blaster pistol. On the Nexus Mods page, Crozzbow also notes that players who wish to install the Greedo mod must first install radiclown’s Star Wars Aliens mod, as Crozzbow created Greedo using radiclown’s Rodian assets.
Many modders are still patiently awaiting Bethesda’s Creation Kit, which is expected to come toStarfieldsometime this year. The Creation Kit will grant modders even more possibilities; Crozzbow even stated that it would allow Greedo to be added as a standalone character without having to replace Lyle Brewer.Starfield’s Shattered Space DLCis also expected this year, though a release date has yet to be confirmed.
