Whether it be elves with centuries of experience, demons with their natural superior magical ability, or even humans, a race feared for its high adaptability rate, there is no shortage of powerful characters among the various races. The strong characters inFrieren: Beyond Journey’s Endare varied; however, as the overall power structure and hierarchy are affected by factors like environment, matchups, and other specific conditions, characters can overthrow one another in the right circumstances. However, separating the wheat from the chaff remains something that appeals to fans.
18Ubel
A Bloodthirsty Mage With Limitless Imagination
Unlike the pacifist Sense, Ubel loves the thrill of killing and fighting to the death and sets out to do it. While she might not be such an all-rounder, her combat and particularly offensive capabilities are one thing that put her above and beyond many. With her unique spell, Reelseiden, Ubel can cleave through anything as long as she can imagine it.
Unlike many mages who need to understand the workings of a spell before they can use it, Ubel has no such restrictions. She only needs to be able to visualize the said spell. During the first-class mage exam, Ubel revealed that by empathizing with a mage, she’s able to copy and recreate their abilities even without understanding the inner workings of the technique. In this way, she became capable ofusing the binding spell Sorganeil.
17Sense
The Gentle Proctor With Unmatched Control
Despite her pacifist demeanor, Sense’s tests always push the examinees to the extreme, making them make use of both brawn and brain. In terms of personal strength,few can match Sense. She makes use of her long and wavy hair that reaches all the way to her feet. By manipulating those strands of hair, Sense is able to move around, attack, and even defend.
Aside from the use of her hair, Sense’s mana concealment is also top-notch. Being able to conceal her mana to the extent that even Stille birds sit on her shoulder is a great demonstration of her mana concealment skills.
16Solitar
The Strategic Demon Who Respects Humanity’s Power
Demons are naturally much more powerful than humans, but even among demons,Solitar ranks high and above manywith her mana output. This greater demon is comparable to even the Seven Sages of Destruction. Unlike many demons, Solitar isn’t all for killing humans and showing off her power. On the contrary, she never makes light of them and realizes humanity’s potential for both good and terrible.
Moreover, unlike most demons who tend to underestimate humans, Solitar ensures she never does that. Not only does she understand humans and human magic, but she applies some of that understanding to her battle tactics and the way she approaches various battles. Even Frieren acknowledges Solitar’s prowess, as the demon has proven herself to be capable of felling a fortress city all by herself.
15Fern
Became A First-Class Mage Under Frieren’s Guidance
At the beginning of the series, Fern was taken under Frieren’s wing as a temporary apprentice during Frieren’s stay with Heiter. However, due to Heiter’s machinations, Fern ended up remaining Freiren’s apprentice and has journeyed with her ever since. As Frieren’s apprentice, when it comes to the mages of the current era, Fern is without a doubtone of the most powerful.
The speed and power of her offensive spells have put many to shame, even if they do have a vaster mana pool or more experience. During the First-Class Mage Exam Arc, when a mage was needed to assist Frieren in defeating her clone, Fern was the only one who could stand up to the task and eventually became a First-Class Mage.
14Eisen
A Fearful Yet Fearsome Dwarven Warrior
Not much is known about the dwarven warrior Eisen; however, as a warrior of the Hero’s party, Eisen is by no means weak. Despite growing so old and his body being weaker than it was in his prime, Eisen remains able to jump from unimaginable heights with no damage. Moreover, he serves as Stark’s master and can keep up with the youngster during training.
As a warrior, Eisen has fearful tendencies; however, his fear just makes him more determined to escape any situation alive. Despite his fearfulness, Eisen would never abandon his comrades and always rise to the challenge. By copying Eisen’s techniques, Stark managed to give the demon Linie a run for its money.
13Stark
A Warrior Similar To His Master
Frieren’s new party consists of herself, Fern the mage, and Stark the warrior. Like his master, Stark prefers not to get violent, as he is easily intimidated. However, when he makes up his mind, he shows unbelievable power. Before leaving his master’s place, Stark and Eisen were in battle, and Eisen struck Stark like he would an enemy.
This was not because Eisen and Stark had a falling out, but because Eisen grew afraid of Stark, and his instincts kicked in. To make even Eisen the warrior feel fear, Stark’s ability is no joke. He has continually proven it, as seen in his battle against Linie and the Solar Dragon.
12Old Man Voll
A Senile But Powerful Guardian
This elderly dwarf is respected to the utmost in the world of this anime. Despite being very old, even by the standards of a dwarf, Old Man Voll retains his fighting abilities and protects his village due to a promise he made to his late wife hundreds of years ago. Voll’s dedication to protecting his village is incredible, and even in his old years, he’s still capable of putting down demons and monsters.
Voll is often seen as senile and rarely speaks. However, when he comes across Stark, he puts the young warrior on the ground with little effort.As a friend of Frieren, Voll trains Stark during the duration of Freiren’s party in his village.
11Lernen
Serie’s Apprentice Is Not To Be Taken Lightly
As an apprentice of Serie, Lernen’s magical prowess is among the best in the current world ofFrieren. After the mage class system was established, Lernen was the first-ever first-class mage, and he has survived to this day. In terms of magical abilities, Lernen is capable of creating golems that can be used for various purposes. The golems he creates are incredibly sturdy, as seen during the second part of the first-class mage exam.
In addition to his incredible golem-creating skills, Lernen also used an incredible offensive spell that was capable of breaking through Frieren’s defensive spell. He was also capable of seeing the instability in Frieren’s mana restraint at first glance. While Lernen is generally seen as modest and cautious, the mage challenges Frieren to a duel to leave a mark as Serie’s disciple.
10Kraft
This Ancient Monk Is More Than Meets The Eye
Not much is known about this current monk and former warrior; however, Kraft is undoubtedly a powerful combatant. While most elves, like Serie and Frieren, have been around for a long time, they still look like children. Kraft, on the other hand, looks like a fully grown, middle-aged man, leading many to wonder just how long he’s lived. When Kraft spoke with Frieren, he mentioned that most of the people who knew of his past adventures were all dead.
In terms of sheer ability, to have survived that long, even through the dark, war-torn age of demons, Kraft must possess formidable abilities. His ability to instantly sense Ubel’s true nature speaks highly of him. To ensure his acts did not become completely forgotten, Kraft began worshipping the goddess, believing she would at least remember his good works.
9Denken
This Imperial Mage Has Experience On His Side
This imperial first-class mage was raised by none otherthan Macht, the strongest of the Seven Sagesof Destruction. Denken began chasing power and influence to save his wife’s life. However, before he obtained the necessary power and influence as an imperial mage, his wife died. Even after that, the mage continued to work hard, and now few mages can stand up to him.
In terms of sheer skill, Denken’s ability as a mage is top-notch. After becoming a first-class mage, he received the spell Mistilzela from Serie, which enabled him to counter Macht’s Diagoldze. Denken’s prowess comes partly from his vast experience as a mage. After living a life as an imperial mage, Denken gained a ton of experience facing the inner threats in the imperial court.
