Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warmay no longer be the activeCall of Dutygame, but it has still received some new content. The content in question brings a classic multiplayer map and a brand-new Assault Rifle toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
The Assault Rifle in question is the Vargo 52, a weapon that was accidentally made unlockable early through a hidden challenge. Recently, if players managed to deal 1,000 damage with Assault Rifles in 15Call of Duty: Modern Warfarematches, they would unlock the weapon for use inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Now, the Vargo 52 has been officially added, and fortunately it should not prove too difficult to acquire.

To unlock the Vargo 52 in multiplayer, players need to do the same thing they did to obtain the weapon early - only this time they need to deal 1,000 damage with Assault Rifles inBlack Ops Cold Warmultiplayer instead ofModern Warfaremultiplayer. Zombies fans can also unlock access to the weapon by killing 750 Zombies with an Assault Rifle that is Pack-A-Punch Tier 3. This is undoubtedly the easier method to unlock the Vargo 52, as it can be accomplished in just one match of Zombies.
Once players complete either unlock challenge, they will be free to use the Vargo 52 in both Zombies and multiplayer. If they hop into multiplayer, they will also be able to enjoy WMD, a classic map fromthe originalBlack Opsthat has been remastered forBlack Ops Cold War. Like the other remasters featured in the game, it will keep the same layout and visual design of the original map, just with some significantly improved visuals. As always, WMD should play very well for Snipers due to its long sightlines and large size.
Intriguingly, this is unlikely to be the last content dropCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warreceives. The same datamine that found the Vargo 52 and WMD also led to the discovery of a Scythe melee weapon and a remaster of Jungle, another belovedBlack Opsmap. An Operator skin for theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarZombies character Ravenov has leaked, too, something that has already been teased by Treyarch. Lastly, the datamine shows thatPack-A-Punchcamos could become usable in multiplayer, and they may be tied to Ravenov’s bundle.
It is hard to predict when this other leaked content could drop, as this WMD update came completely out of nowhere. Regardless, for those that have not been enjoyingCall of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer offering, there is now a good reason to return to the previous entry in the series.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
