During a discussion on his success as a businessman, Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick gave a little insight intoGrand Theft Auto 6, saying that developer Rockstar seeks “nothing short of perfection” when it comes to the franchise. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the sixth installment in the iconicGTAseries is consideredone of the most hyped up gamesof this generation. However, there’s no telling when the next installment will actually release, though everyone’s hoping it’ll be sooner rather than later.

TheGrand Theft Autoseries is now a quarter of a century old, with the fifth game, which originally released in 2013, accounting for 10 years of that overall lifespan. Given such longevity, many fans are now eagerly awaiting the next entry. It’s no secret that Rockstar makes quality titles, whether it’sGTAorRed Dead Redemption, but the fact thatGrand Theft Auto 6is still in development is causing more than a few to lose patience. However, this long wait may be the studio just wanting to ensure the sixth installment is ready.

For Zelnick, it seems the development team is dedicated to releasing what it thinks is the absolute cream of the gaming industry. The discussion aboutGTA 6begins around the 30:21 mark.

Given this, Rockstar may simply want nothing more than for the next game to be the best, though some fans may suspect the cash cow that isGTA Onlinecould be one reason the studio is dragging its heels a bit. That aside, there is a slight possibility thatGTA 6could arrive as early as 2024, according to a Take-Two fiscal report. That’s only speculation at this stage, but no doubt the developer or publisher will make an announcement on that front at some point.

Although it’spossible thatGrand Theft Auto 6will take place in Vice City, there isn’t really much known about the game outside what people saw in the 2022 leaks. All fans can really do at the moment is keep their collective ears to the ground, and hopefully the wait will be worth it in the end.
