Their journey is wrought with comical and wondrous momentsthat are made even more endearing thanks to how well-writtenThe Dragon Prince’s characters are. Callum’s lust for adventure leads him to say some hilarious and insightful things, but some lines he recites are more memorable than others.
10"The World Just Isn’t Ready For What We Have."
While ascending to the top of the Dragon Queen’s lair, Callum asks Rayla if she plans to inform the dragon about their blossoming romance. Rayla dismisses the idea by suggesting it probably won’t come up, so Callum takes the opportunity to make a quick joke about their relationship.
He states that not divulging their relationship renders it"a secret forbidden romance situation.“Rayla finds this idea amusing and decides to play along, leading Callum to state “This world just isn’t ready for what we have.” This line showcases how comfortable Callum is around Rayla and allows him to become more confident.

9"It’s Your Choice, No One Else’s.”
Callum eventually reaches the Dragon Queen’s lair, but there is no time to celebrate. Viren has amassed an army to reclaim the Dragon Prince, so Callum suggests to Rayla that they flee together to keep Zym safe.
Rayla agrees that doing so is a wise choice, but she refuses to abandon her post inthe same way she believes her parents did. The two bicker over their disagreement, but Callum eventually concedes and informs her that it’s her decision, and he has no right to sway her.

8"Ventriloquism But With Smells: Smelltriloquism! Vensmelloquism?"
Upon reaching the magical land of Xadia, Callum and Rayla encounter Sol Regem, an ancient dragon who protects Xadia’s borders from humans. Rayla attempts to reason with the dragon, but he refuses to let them pass, forcing the pair to devise a plan to outwit him.

Sneaking past Sol Regem proved unsuccessful, so Callum elects to use trickery to outmaneuver the frightening beast. He suggests that his Aspiro spell could transport his scent to a different location and distract the beast long enough for them to sneak by. He dubs the process “Smelltriloquism” before trying to rectify its odd name with the equally bizarre title of “Vensmelloquism.”
7"Rayla, You’re The Most Amazing Person I’ve Ever Met."
Callum is presented to be a relatively shy young man who holds back a lot of his feelings. It is seldom he reveals his emotions to his friends, but his time in the Midnight Desert sees him growing confident enough to tell Rayla how he truly feels.
Rayla is believed to be a traitorand has been subsequently banished from her home. She feels helpless and refuses to listen to Callum even if the advice he offers her is rational. Callum, now familiar with how Rayla’s mind works, refuses to listen to any more of her self-deprecating words and instead begins to inform her of how highly he thinks of her.

6"I’ll Have To Check My Map, But I’m Fairly Certain I Recognize The Unmistakable Topography Of Mount Monotonous."
While attempting to locate a powerful being to cure the Dragon Prince, Callum embarks on a journey up a harrowing mountain trail. Evil lurks around every corner, so Callum attempts to alleviate some of the stress felt by his companions with a poorly timed joke.
His friends, unsatisfied with Callum’s sense of humor, refuse to respond. To ensure his joke did not go unnoticed, however, a nearby cricket elects to surmise the emotions of his friends with a series of mundane chirps, highlighting exactly how lousy the joke was.

5"No One Here But Us And All Your Human Troops!"
Upon leaving for Xadia, Callum decides to make a quick stop at the Winter Lodge to obtain his Primal Source Cube, a magical artifact capable of detecting the magical properties housed in different objects and creatures. He asks Rayla to fetch it for him, butAmaya arrives shortly afterto make the process a bit more laborious.

Amaya suspects an elf has entered the lodge and kicks the door down to investigate. Callum, worried about Rayla’s safety, exclaims “No one here but us and all your human troops!” in the hope that his new comrade will hear him and hide from her pursuers. His delivery is so out of character that Amaya asks why he phrased it the way he did, but Callum insists that’s how he always refers to her army.
4"Oh, Really? Wow! I’m A Mage!"
Callum has spent the majority of his life in search of a destiny. He admits that he never felt he was good at anything, so learning how to wield magic gave him a much-needed sense of purpose. Thoughhis first taste of magic is owed to a Primal Stone, he believes that becoming a mage is his true calling.
While fleeing from Claudia’s smoke dogs, Callum attempts to harness the powers housed in his Primal Stone. He remembers the pattern Claudia drew to cast Aspiro and tries to replicate it to dispatch his pursuers. This works, much to his surprise, and fills him with a new sense of determination.

3"We Go Way Back. Like That One Time, Ten Minutes Ago, When You Chased Me Through The Castle Trying To Stab Me."
Callum first meets Rayla in Katolis during her assassination attempt on the king. He spends most of this encounter fleeing from her murderous clutches before uncovering one of the secret passages housed within the castle’s walls.
Together, the two uncover the once thought-to-be-destroyed Dragon egg and decide to team up to return it to its rightful home. Rayla asks her new companions to trust her to which Callum responds by saying they go way back, and he has no reason to doubt her intentions. Though he delivers this line with an air of sarcasm, his willingness to align himself with someone who just tried to murder him reveals just how noble of a character he is.

2"Hey, You Swept The Leg!"
The beginning of “Episodes of Thunder” sees Callumpracticing sword combatwith Soren in an attempt to impress Claudia. Unlike his opponent, Callum lacks the skills required for physical combat and attempts to sweep Soren off his feet with his wooden stick to no avail.
While being chased by Rayla through Katolis, Callum witnesses his pursuer successfully execute the same move he attempted to perform earlier. Though he should be fleeing for his life, he stops to exclaim “Hey, you swept the leg!” with a sense of pride before realizing the error of making this comment.

1"I Want To Talk To You About Growing Up. And How Sometimes, You Have To Face Things You Aren’t Ready For."
Callum learns of the death of his fatherbefore his younger brother does. Though he feels Ezran deserves to learn of this tragedy too, his initial attempt to tell him fails. He doesn’t want his brother to suffer the same pain he does, so he postpones breaking the news to him until it is too late.
Ezran learns of his father’s demise when Corvus refers to him as “King Ezran.” He quickly puts the pieces together on his own, so Callum apologizes and attempts to ease his grief with the same words his father used when his mother passed away.
