The last quarter of 2021 will see the release of brand new FPS IP, as well as new entries in some of the biggest first-person shooter franchises ever. New FPS Games October 2021

October 2021 is easily the biggest month of the year for first-person shooter fans, as four new games in the genre are set to launch, including three big budget triple-A titles. Before those higher profile games hit the scene, though, FPS fans can check out a retro-inspired throwback shooter calledExophobia, which has visuals reminiscent ofclassicDoomgames.Exophobiaseems like it will definitely be appealing to old-school FPS fans, and so they’ll want to keep it on their radar. The game will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X when it launches on October 5, so FPS fans should be able to check it out regardless of their platform of choice.

Then on October 7, an open world FPS is set to launch in the form ofFar Cry 6. The latest entry in the long-runningFar Cryfranchise,Far Cry 6is looking to take serious steps forward in terms of narrative and storytelling.Far Cry 6’s main villain, Anton Castillo, is played by the award-winning actor Giancarlo Esposito, who finds himselfin conflict with Dani Rojas, promised to be one of the more fleshed-out and developed characters that theFar Cryseries has seen so far. This bigger focus on story won’t come at the expense of theFar Cryfranchise’s signature over-the-top action, so fans have a lot to look forward to when it launches for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Google Stadia.

Not even a week afterFar Cry 6launches, FPS fans can jump into the blood-soaked world ofBack 4 Blood. A spiritual successor toLeft 4 Dead,Back 4 Bloodhas players mowing down endless hordes of zombies and special infected in co-op with friends.Back 4 Bloodalso has plenty of PvP optionsfor fans to check out as well, though it remains to be seen if the game will live up to the high bar set by theLeft 4 Deadgames.Back 4 Bloodwill be available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and it will even be a day one Xbox Game Pass game, so fans can check it out with minimal risk.

And finally, the FPS onslaught in October 2021 will come to an end withBattlefield 2042.Battlefield 2042will provide a significantly different experience depending on if players are playing the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game or the next-gen version, which will offer double the player count and a variety of other enhancements.Battlefield 2042is multiplayer-only, but it’s going all-out to ensure that it’s still very much a content-rich experience.

A newCall of Dutygame releases every year, and 2021 is no exception to that rule. Sledgehammer Games is releasingCall of Duty: Vanguardon November 5, and it will provideCall of Dutyfans with a familiar experience. There is a single player campaign starring four different characters as they try to stop Hitler’s successor, along with the franchise’s standard multiplayer experience. Not only that, butTreyarch is makingCall of Duty: Vanguard’s Zombies mode, so Zombies fans should have a lot to look forward to as well.

So far, Activision has focused itsCall of Duty: Vanguardreveals on the single-player campaign and multiplayer. It recently shared aCall of Duty: Vanguardcampaign level featuring the German invasion of Stalingrad, plus the Alpha is available to play on PlayStation consoles this weekend. With just a couple months to go untilCall of Duty: Vanguard’s release, fans can expect plenty more information on the ambitious FPS to come to light.

New FPS Games December 2021

Before the rise ofCall of Duty,Halowas the premiere first-person shooter franchise on consoles.Halo Infiniteis looking to bring Xbox’s flagship franchise back in a big way, offering a free-to-play live service multiplayer experience, a campaign, and much more. Unfortunately, some of the game’s features won’t be ready for launch, includingco-op for the campaign and Forge mode, but that content will be added throughout its lifespan as part of future updates.

Halo Infinitewill launch for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on December 8. It’s also worth pointing out that, likeBack 4 Blood,Halo Infinitewill be a day one Xbox Game Pass game when it launches later this year.
