Early on inThe Planet Crafter, players will create a deconstruction microchip. Not only does this tool let players move and remove their own equipment, it lets themexplore the depths of shipwrecksby removing girders and salvage the equipment they find inside.
However, one thing the regular deconstruction microchip can’t do is dismantle technical debris. The giant computer stacks are too complex and intricate for the regular chip to work, and this can prevent players from entering certain ruins and collecting valuable materials. That’s whyThe Planet Crafterplayers will need to upgrade their deconstruction chip, and thankfully that upgrade isn’t very hard to find.

How to Get the Deconstruction Microchip T2
Throughout all the shipwrecks and other ruins on the map, players will find items called blueprint microchips. By bringing these back to a Blueprints Display, players can unlock special equipment and objects thataren’t unlocked by regular milestones. Some of these are decorative items, but many of them are very useful.
The deconstruction T2 microchip is one such item. Players will have to find several blueprint microchips to get it since they always unlock items in a specific order, but once they get access they can upgrade their existing chip using one methane cartridge and one zeolite. The zeolite means players will likely have to wait until the Plants stage of terraformation, butthere are ways of getting zeoliteearly by looking in the right places.

Where to Find Technical Debris
Some players may be dealing with the opposite problem: they have the deconstruction T2 chip, but they don’t know how to use it or why. To answer the first question, the T2 model allows players to deconstruct the computer stacks found invarious wrecks and abandoned sites. As for the second question, the reason is simple: technical debris turns into circuit boards, a valuable material used in a variety of late-game equipment like drones.
Players should note that, while the deconstruction microchip T2 was introduced in the Fish and Drones update ofThe Planet Crafter, the technical debris it works on can be found in just about every major wreck and ruin in the game, include all the ones that are older than the update. As such, returning players should make a point to go back through all the shipwrecks they explored during previous updates and grab all the debris they can find. Doing so will be much easier than constructing a load of circuit boards from scratch.
The Planet Crafteris available now in early access on PC.
