With the Summer Update Wave 2 inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons,it brought back the NPC Luna and her Dream Island Tours. This is a feature reprised fromNew Leaf, where fans created island experiences for friends and strangers. At first glance, the Dream Island Tours might not seem any different from visiting another’s island through Dodo Codes, yet allowing players to upload a ‘dream state’ of their islands rather than a physical encounter means that an island can be explored without items being messed with by visitors. SinceNew Leaf, players have been taking advantage of this feature by turning their islands into haunted houses.

Aika Village (DA-1182-7179-4326)
Perhaps the scariest of the group and certainly the most well-known spooky island isAika Village, a remaster of its version fromNew Leaf. It features several bizarre areas and rooms that reportedly bare no connection to one another but have sparking theories. The entire island is dressed head to toe and is sure to be worth the visit.
On one section of the island, players can view and endless dinosaur with an endless tail where its head should be. In one room of the host’s home, several paintings of eyeballs will stare as several statues and teddy bears are turned away, strangely fixated on the wall to their left. There’s so much to cover on this massive island with many fan theories out there, so those who are looking for some spooks should make sure to check it out.

Hitokui Village (DA-4088-8875-3480)
ThisDream Address finds Hitokui Island. Also known as Cannibal Island, it is another reimagining from theNew Leafgeneration. Several houses are a spectacle here, playing to terrible lore surrounding the island. Firstly, step into the white home where a large doctor’s office can be found. And don’t miss the house to the far right end of the island whereNew Horizonsplayers can happily dineafter their terrifying journey, just make sure to check what’s being served first.
Silent Hill (DA-3489-3990-5301)
As the name might suggest, this island is reminiscent of the horror franchiseSilent Hill. A small graveyard overlooks Toluca Lake, and just passed it waits Hell Gas Station. Lots of familiar locations can be discovered here, including Silent Hill Ranch designated by its nostalgic sign and several Halo of the Sun summoning circles hidden throughout the tour. The theme park fromSilent Hill 3is a major attraction for this island, where its creator expertly used the horrifying Bunny Day items to recreateRobbie the Rabbit. Veterans to the series should take a stroll through the home just beyond its entrance for a horrifying hospital, and two other homes with familiar settings lie on the left end of the island.
Underworld (DA-9184-7436-2844)
In the Underworld, blood is splattered everywhere and bodies are being burned alive. The island is scorched (so much so that itslowsAnimal Crossing’s frame rate), and Skulls lay at rest beside abandoned graveyards and creepy dolls are scattered across the floors. Summoning circles are no surprise but instead compliment the eerie atmosphere of this player’s depiction of hell. verify to follow the numerical signs of the many deadly sins for excellent displays symbolizing each crime.
This path will force the player down an unending journey with no turning back, but even after this tour is finished, there’s so much more on this island to get lost in, from a bloody wedding scene to headless witches. The player homes are not to be missed either, where Hades' most revered victims lie and more. One of the rooms might even be a reference toHideo Kojima’sPT.

Ghibli 6th Station (4482-9015-3082)
The Sixth Stationis a reference to a song featured inStudio Ghibli’sSpirited Away, playing when Chihiro and No Face ride the train together. However, this island is not a reference to the beloved film but rather is inspired by the Victorian era. A massive school can be viewed on the left side of the island, where students have painted in blood and papers strewn across the ground spell out ‘WATCH OUT’ amongst blood splatters. On the north end, a maze-like library hides a summoning circle. Follow the main road from the airport straight north to reach the host’s home. Something terrible has happened in the main room leading to experiments happening in the basement, but the upstairs room is perhaps the creepiest of all.
