Qin Shi Huang the Unifier
Just like the previousLeader Passwaves, theRulers of Chinapack includes one alternate version of a pre-existing leader. China’s base leader inCivilization 6gets a nice little upgrade for those who want to pursuea domination victory inCiv 6rather than chasing after world wonders. Qin Shin Huang the Unifer’s main leader ability is called Thirty-Six Stratagems, and it gives every Chinese melee unit the ability to convert nearby barbarians to the cause at the expense of the melee unit. This lets players quickly build massive barbarian armies that they can use to conquer their neighbors, and players that use this ability well will be a major force to be reckoned with.
Wu Zetian
The first brand-new leader that theRulers of Chinapack introduces is Wu Zetian, and she brings a very different China with her. Instead of facing enemies head on or constructing countless wonders, Zetian’s main focus is on espionage. Her special leader ability is called Manual of Entrapment, and it offers loads of bonuses for players who focus their attention on uncovering their neighbors' secrets. She receives a free spy once Defensive Tactics is researched, andeveryCivilizationspy operates at one level higherthan they are. Every offensive espionage mission that her spies complete will grant China 25% of the science and culture gains produced by the target city. This ability can really help boost China in the early game, and it will be interesting to see how veteran players utilize it.
Yongle
The Emperor Yongle is the final new leader that comes with theRulers of Chinapack, and he is a great choice for anyone who wants to try for acultural victory inCiv 6. His special ability is called Lijia, and it seems like it will be a great way to boost China’s economy throughout the game. Every city is able to produce three different unique Lijia projects, and each project gives significant boosts to resources. These projects can convert 50% of the city’s production into food or faith, or 100% to gold. If players have theRise and Fallexpansion then every city that reaches 10 population will gain gold, science, and culture per turn for each population. This should lead to a booming economy that’ll help make China a powerful force on the world stage.
TheRulers of Chinapack is available inCivilization 6right now for anyone who wants to try these new rulers out.
