The great “scripts written by A.I.” fad may have died down a bit since its relatively recent surge, but luckily for those still hungry for more artificial shenanigans, a new challenger has appeared. This time, the subject is a completely newStar Warsmovie set after the events ofEpisode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. A whole squad ofStar Warslovers sat down for a virtual table read of the machine-generated script, and it’s possibly even more delightfully absurd than anyone could have hoped.
The crew over at theStar Wars-focused “Blue Bantha Milk Co.” YouTube channel gathered aneclectic group of fellow hardcoreStar Warsfansto breathe life into a script that defies many laws of storytelling and possibly a few laws of decency. As for how they created such a unique story, the video’s description explains it, saying, “we fed an A.I. the scripts for episodes 1-9, wrote an opening crawl, and let the AI (mostly) do the rest.” As is clear from the constant pausing for laughter throughout the read, it appears the result was certainly its own brand of entertaining.

Highlights of the read (so far) are almost too numerous to count. They range from the strange but mundane to the completely and utterly bewildering, and any single scene can span that particular spectrum in its entirety. Whether it involvesa surreal scene featuring C-3POeating (?) a cookie and smiling (??) or the unexplained return of virtually every fan favorite character who ever appeared in aStar Warsmovie, this may be the one instance where nobody watching could possibly predict what will happen next.
The live stream of the table read turned into a hefty 2-part video series, the 2nd half of which will release roughly 2 weeks after the 1st installment was broadcast, so curious fans have plenty of time to catch up with this bizarre sci-fi creation. Not that it will necessarily help much, since the entertainment comes more from the nonsensical twists and the performers' reactions to everything they’re reading. But it should certainly make for something fun to watch through withsome snacks and friends(at a distance, of course).
Star Warsadmittedly hasn’t always been the most serious intellectual property. From a green humanoid rabbit who happens to be a smuggler toan ever growing library of LEGO adaptations, this is a series that’s well served by something this ludicrous. Lines such as “a bikini-clad Sith pirate girl jumps on the chest of Chewbacca” (spoken by the narrator) litter the story with stunning regularity, making even some of the most outlandish fan-fiction tales seem positively tame in comparison.
Those who prefer to continue takingStar Warsas a gritty, profound collection of stories should steer clear. This journey is only for the open of mind and wacky of heart. Though, maybe grab a few drinks beforehand. Hey, at least it’s notthe creepiest thing one could do with an A.I.
Part 2 of this extraordinarily extraStar Warsadventurewill go live via this linkon February 13th on the Blue Bantha Milk Co. YouTube channel.
