A looter shooter is also expected to have a set of diverse playable characters, with each one boasting a unique set of abilities that encourage replayability. And the feature that often separatesa good looter shooterfrom a great one is an engaging end game that holds the player’s attention long after they’ve rolled credits, andSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguewill try its hardest to provide just that.

Just a week ago, some Rocksteady developers took to the officialSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice LeagueDiscord server to shed some more light on various aspects of the upcoming title’s gameplay, story, and post-launch content. While many of the answers were predominantly confirmations of things that fans already knew about the game, Rocksteady did reveal a few small details and hints of what fans can expect fromSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s end game.

In this official developer Q&A, Rocksteady makes multiple references to Brainiac in relation toSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s end game, which would seemingly suggest that Brainiac will still be around after those main story credits roll. One of the most important quotes from the Q&A that supports this idea comes from @RS_Axel, who writes “Brainiac keeps evolving his forces throughout the end game.” So, it’s pretty much confirmed thatBrainiac survives the main story ofSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, though it’s currently unclear just how. Recent rumors and leaks have suggested that a multiversal element may be in play forSuicide Squad’s end game, but Rocksteady hasn’t confirmed that.

Aside from seemingly confirming that Brainiac will not be defeated inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s main story, Rocksteady also shed a bit more light on their own philosophy surrounding the title’s end game. Again according to @RS_Axel, Rocksteady believes thatSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s end game revolves around this idea of “Mastery,” more specifically, “Mastery of your character, traversal, Talents, enemy types, mission mechanics and, of course, your choice of build.”

The developer goes on to mention thatSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueis a “chaotic” game, and in its challenging end game players will be rewarded for really mastering their character, mechanics, and chosen build, being able to harness that chaos and use it to their advantage. Two different end game mission types are also mentioned in the Q&A, those being Incursion Missions and Killing Time missions, both of which see players try to take down an oncoming horde of Brainiac forces as they attempt to destroy the Squad’s Promethium Shield. Completing these difficult missions will apparently reward players with exclusiveInfamy Sets of gear, modeled after a specific DC villain. While this sounds interesting, many fans are more focused on the apparent confirmation that Brainiac will not be dealt with in the main story of the game, and the implications of that narrative choice.
