What to Expect From Hogwarts Legacy’s 2024 Summer Update

Expect PlayStation-Exclusive Content to Be Available on Other Platforms

The main reason for theHogwarts Legacy’s summer update is to make all PlayStation-exclusive content available on other platforms. The main appeal of this exclusive content is undoubtedly the “Haunted Hogsmeade” quest, which is arguably the game’s best side quest, conjuring elements of horror that no other quests in the game have been adventurous enough to explore. Players will also be given access to their very ownHogsmeade Shoponce they’ve completed the quest. Here, they can buy and sell at rates better than anywhere else. Finally, the Shopkeeper cosmetic set will become available upon completion of the “Haunted Hogsmeade” quest, which features tan and deep teal colors and a stylish top hat.

Don’t Expect Any Major Content Drops

Disappointingly, while those who have yet to experienceHogwarts Legacy’s PlayStation-exclusive contentwill undoubtedly be pleased to, Avalanche’s community manager, Chandler Wood, took to Twitter on March 7 to seemingly ask that everyone temper their expectations for the update. Specifically, he wanted to emphasize the original wording of the update when it said thatHogwarts Legacywould be receiving “additional features and updates.” While he wasn’t clear about what this could mean, the fact that the devs felt it necessary to say something indicates thatHogwarts Legacywill not receive any major content drops.

Expect Minor Updates and Features

Although the news thatHogwarts Legacywill likely not receive any significant content drops is somewhat disappointing, as Wood said, it will receive additional updates and features. Thankfully, it’s unlikely that these are mere bug and performance fixes, as Wood also mentioned that the update “is a small way of us showing appreciation to our players for the amazing reception to the game.” As bug and performance updates are expected post-release, it’s doubtful these would be classified as Avalanche showing its appreciation to fans. Furthermore, while it’s currently unknown what these updates and features will bring to the table, it’s entirely possible to speculate.

Minor features and updates that could be added inHogwarts Legacy’s summer updateinclude:

As of now, Avalanche has not disclosed when the summer update will be available forHogwarts Legacy, but it could be as early as May, as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions ofHogwarts Legacylaunched on Jul 25, 2025. Additionally, while the universal availability of PlayStation-exclusive content forHogwarts Legacyis a plus, fans should temper their expectations with the summer update.
