Stardew Valleyis a game known for its relaxing environment and colorful characters. This open-ended title also offers a good deal of creative freedom throughout a playthrough. In a memorable clip, oneStardew Valleyplayer shared their wholesome end-of-day routine in-game.
Stardew Valleywas released in 2016and was heavily inspired by theHarvest Moonseries. This simulation role-playing game has players take over their deceased grandfather’s farm and was developed by Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. The game is open-ended, allowing players to grow crops, raise livestock, and get to know the people of the town without too strict of a narrative path to follow.

In Reddit user lsdc221’s clip, they are ridingtheir horse inStardew Valleyon their farm at the end of the day. WithinStardew Valley’s daily time cycle, a player’s animals will march out of their coup or barn in the morning and slowly make their way back home at night. This process is automatic but lsdc221 rides alongside their cow, carefully guiding it into the open barn as light begins to fade. This wonderful attempt at herding their cattle back home on horseback doesn’t actually affect the cow’s march but lsdc221 established this routine to add a new layer of roleplay to the game.
This is a classic example of adding on to the game’s base level of roleplay and it is quite the wholesome moment. BecauseStardew Valleyis an open-ended game, it lends itself to players creating their own narrative on moments like this and lsdc221 does a great job making this believable. Though the animals are automatically willing to head into their barns, this moment adds a nice new layer to the game.
Stardew Valleycan be a bit of a challengefor those looking to master it but the game was developed to suit players of all sorts of styles. While there are achievements and goals that take an incredible amount of play time and determination, there is a lot of game to play without having to progress in it too far.
Then again,Stardew Valleyhas a lot to discover and it can be a bit of a challenge to uncover all of the game’s secrets. Its player freedom is at least a part of the reason why that difficulty exists. With so much to do in-game, players can get easily distracted and even overwhelmed without a clear path to follow. But, whether or not players like the style, thisStardew Valleyclip should brighten their day.
