There is no way to make it through a ‘soulslike’ game without a serious tool for replenishing health. InWo Long: Fallen Dynasty, this takes the form of the Dragon’s Cure Pot. Like similar items from other games in the genre, the pot starts with a set number of charges, which can be increased throughout the course of the game. In this,Wo Long: Fallen Dynastystays true to what is expected.
Throughout the course of the game, players can add seven charges to the original three, bringing the total to ten. Each charge is gained by using the Dragon Vein Crystal, perhapsWo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s most important upgrade. Aside from charges, how much the pot heals can also be upgraded through the Dragon Vein Essence item. Fully upgrading the Dragon’s Cure Pot will fully prepare the player foranythingWo Long: Fallen Dynastycan dish out.
“Two Chivalrous Heroes”
Dragon Vein Crystal 1:
The first Dragon Vein Crystal inWo Long: Fallen Dynastyis located in this first quest from Part 2. From the 5th Battle Flag, which is found directly after the fight with Zhuyan, the ape-like demon mini-boss, head past the blacksmith until reaching the large structure that is clearly visible from the path.
Zhao Yun will remark on the building as the player gets close to it. A dangerous, spear-wielding demonized soldier will be standing directly in front of the glowing loot crystal that contains the first Dragon Vein Crystal. Once it’s in the player’s inventory, they must highlight it and choose ‘use’ before it will add a charge toWo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s main health recovery tool, the Dragon’s Cure Pot.
“The Valley Of Crying Wraiths”
Dragon Vein Essence 1:
Around two-thirds of the way through the stage, the player will reach a Battle Flag just after climbing up a long ladder and crossing a bridge. The Battle Flag will lead to a Shitieshou, and just after that, two Changgui (tiger demons).The second changgui will be protectingthe Essence, which is just under a small, wooden stoop.
“The Demon Fort of the Yellow Heaven”
Dragon Vein Crystal 2:
Near the end of the stage, the player will find a Battle Flag that rests in the middle of a small stair set. It will be guarded by a stationary Changgui (tiger demon) and sits right before the entrance to the small courtyard that is patrolled by multiple Demonized Officers. If the player walks into the courtyard from this flag, they should turn right, into the area guarded by a single warlock and demonized soldier. The Crystal is on a dead body that rests against a bench in the back of the room.
“The Yellow Heaven Burns” - Sub-Battlefield
Dragon Vein Essence 2:
The second Essence is found past the second Battle Flag, up beyond the archer who protects the Leader. Head past the archer to find a changgui protecting a marking flag and a chest. The Dragon Vein Essence is in the chest.
“In Search of the Immortal Wizard”
Dragon Vein Essence 3:
The third Essence is found in the final cave chamber before the boss fight. After taking down the zhupolong, look up to find several root systems. There will be one, near the very top, that has a break in between two branches. There is clearly a piece of loot on one side, this is the Dragon Vein Essence. Head up and jump across to reach it.
“Fall of the Corrupted Eunuch”
Dragon Vein Essence 4:
The fourth Essence is found in the bottom of the large pit with purple sludge. The first thing the player must do is find the dungeon keys, then head to the opposite end of the chamber. Look for a broken wall, then head behind it to find a locked door. Inside the locked cell is the Dragon Vein Essence. The dungeon keys are found in an open cellnear the corrupted Battle Flag.
Dragon Vein Crystal 3:
The crystal can be found at the very end of the stage, near the final Battle Flag. If the player puts their back to the flag and the boss arena, they will then make a hard left and head to the corner. There is a small, zigzag bridge and a small forested area. The crystal will be sitting at the base of a tree.
“The Battle of Hulaoguan Pass”
Dragon Vein Essence 5:
In the courtyard with the corrupted Battle Flag and multiple white tents, there is a platform that has a chest at the top. It is unreachable without breaking a specific wall first. Take out the massive wrestler first, then clear the Battle Flag. Right next to the Battle Flag is a ballista that will destroy the wall. Climb to the top of the platform to reach the chest with Dragon Vein Essence 5.
“Centuries of Glory Burned Away”
Dragon Vein Crystal 4:
From the Battle Flag that sits in the dragon’s strike-zone, look for a square structure with an open center. The crystal is found on the ground in the center of this structure, which can be reaches several ways.
“Darkness over the Hanshui River”
Dragon Vein Essence 6:
Just before the final Battle Flag, the player will find one final boat to cross the canal. From the crossing point, looking toward the Battle Flag, the player will see a small cabin. Inside this cabin is the chest that contains the sixth Dragon Vein Essence.
“Tyrant’s Final Banquet”
Dragon Vein Crystal 5:
After Battle Flag 4, there will be a large chamber with a Zhopolong patrolling and a Shitieshou sitting on a small wooden plank. There are wooden planks overhead as well, and the Dragon Vein Essence is above, in a small cage that can be reached from the wooden planks.
Dragon Vein Essence 7:
From the fifth Battle Flag, head through the courtyard until reaching a set of stairs with a wrestler at the top. Take out the giant axe-wielder, then his friend, then head to the end of the hallway and jump over the rail. The essence is in a small clearing. See the images above for specifics.
“Fate of the Entertainer” - Sub-Battlefield
Dragon Vein Essence 8
At the end of the long courtyard that begins with Battle Flag 2, there will be a small bridge with two enemies on or near it. The Essence is sitting at the peak of the bridge.
“War’s Flame Blaze Fiercely”
Dragon Vein Essence 9:
When the final channel has been emptied, and the dragon’s head has been exposed, return to the previous tunnel exit. Head down the ladder and turn right to enter the next chamber. Players can now cross the chamber to reach the Dragon Vein Essence.
“The Way of the Warrior”
Dragon Vein Crystal 6:
After the fourth Battle Flag is cleared by destroying the giant Terracotta soldier, there will be a chamber revealed directly ahead. Inside the chamber is a chest containing Dragon Vein Crystal 6.
“The Uninhibited Heart” - Sub-Battlefield
Dragon Vein Essence 10:
After Battle Flag 2, the player will descend into the sewer. At the bottom of the ladder, immediately turn right. A marking flag is visible in the distance, which is where the Essence is located. The player will enter the area of the sewer with two sections that mirror each other. Cross the area with the Zhupolong and ascend the ladder and stairs on the opposite side. At the top of the stairs, there is a chest that contains Dragon Vein Essence 10.
“Lu Bu, Mightiest Among Men”
Dragon Vein Essence 11:
From Battle Flag 5, there is only one direction players can go. Keep following that path through Shigui, then one long building with soldiers. Coming out of the building, take a hard right, and jump over the partition in the path. From there, Dragon Vein Essence 11 is visible, simply head around the building to grab it. Just be glad thatWo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s Demon Lu Bu fightisn’t required to leave!
“Behold the Glaive of Righteousness”
Dragon Vein Essence 12:
In the area shrouded in fog, there will be a bridge that crosses near a large arena where a Suanyu (Bird Demon) is patrolling. If players turn completely around and head away from the bridge, they can walk straight to the edge of the cliff where the Dragon Vein Essence can be found.
Dragon Vein Crystal 7:
Once the player has made it to the second half of th stage, they will begin making their way through a series of underground tunnels. One of the areas is a large throne room with a single Leishi (Lightening Pig). This room cannot be missed. After defeating the Big Pig Thunder God, look behind the area it was sitting in. The crystal is found on top of a grave just behind its throne.
“The Assault on Wuchao” - Sub-Battlefield
Dragon Vein Essence 13:
From the second Battle Flag, there is a cave-like hole that has a red glow coming from it. Inside, there is a chest that contains Dragon Vein Essence 13.
“Decisive Battle of Guandu”
Dragon Vein Essence 14:
Once the player starts making their way up the crystal paths from Battle Flag 3 & 4, they will come across a small area with a zhuyan patrolling around two small pools of water. If the player turns right at the water, they will head towards a huoshu hiding behind the edge of a building. Once this is defeated, keep moving down the path to find a small house. Inside this house is a chest that contains the stage’s only Dragon Vein Essence.
All Dragon Vein Upgrades in the Hidden Village
Dragon Vein Essence 15:
The final Essence is found in the Hidden Village. To reach it, the player must first completeWo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s Taoist House Key side-quest. There are two keys required to reach the Dragon Vein Essence, the first of which is found near the end of “In Search of the Immortal Wizard,” and the second is found in, “War’s Flames Blaze Fiercely.” With those two keys, the player can open the front and back door and get to the loot. It will be visible on the small, floating island when the player travels between the forge and the next part of the Hidden Village.
With this, the player has fully upgraded the Dragon’s Cure Pot. Now, nothing will stand in the way of success in the world ofWo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
