The Season of Discovery is a new type ofClassic Era World of Warcraftserver that makes drastic changes to the traditional formula. Players can participate in the newWoW ClassicPvP event in Ashenvale, enter a 10-man raid version of Blackfathom Deeps, or discover runes that completely change the roles and rotations of their class.
Now,World of Warcraftfans have discovered an unexpected surprise for their Season of Discovery Hunters. When players complete the quest to unlock the Rune of Kill Command, a powerfulHunter Rune inWoW ClassicSeason of Discovery, they are also awarded with the Wyvern Taming Wand–an item that, while in one’s inventory, allows the Hunter to tame a wyvern creature as a combat pet.
How to Get a Wyvern in WoW Classic Season of Discovery
Wyverns were not tamable inWorld of Warcraftuntil theLegionexpansion. In retail, the manticore-like beasts are classified in the Feathermane family, meaning players must complete the Hunter Class Order Hall campaign and buy the Tome of Hybrid Beast in order to tame them, making them a somewhatrare pet inWorld of Warcraft. However, taming wyverns inClassic WoWwas impossible before the Season of Discovery.
InWorld of Warcraft ClassicSeason of Discovery, wyverns are classified as Wind Serpents, meaning they can unlock the Lightning Breath ability. While this ranged attack makes them decent in their own right, wyverns probably won’t be a top pick for raiding or PvP.
