As multipleWorld of Warcraftexpansions have come and gone since the game was initially released in 2004, many fans think that Blizzard dropped the ball with one major city as the MMO evolved. Though originalWorld of Warcraftcities like Orgrimmar and Stormwind have their modern-era fans, andDragonflight’s Valdrakken is often celebrated, many fans are missing this keyLegioncity.

WhenWorld of Warcraft: Legionwas released in 2016, it received wide praise for taking a better direction thanWarlords of Draenorwhich was negatively received primarily due to the Garrison feature. Among theLegionofferings were class halls with their own unique questlines, artifact weapons, andWorld of Warcraftworld quests which are still a prominent activity for players to do today. Like with anyWorld of Warcraftexpansion,Legionalso had a new zone, this time called the Broken Isles, with the map segmented into six areas, with Suramar still widely talked about today.

Reddit user RealJonas has garnered 11,600 upvotes on a post lamenting the loss of Suramar and its major city which was accompanied by a screenshot emphasizing the beauty of the home of the Nightborne. According to RealJonas and many of the Reddit users responding to the post, Blizzard created “the most beautiful city in the entire game” just to let it fall by the wayside for theexpansion that followedWorld of Warcraft: Legion,Battle For Azeroth. Without further elaborating on their initial statement, RealJonas seems to be an existingWorld of Warcraftfan despite their concerns and may just wish that Suramar world quests were still active.

WhenLegionwas the latest expansion, Suramar and its city were full of life thanks to the achievement linked to flight in the Broken Isles, world quests, dungeons, and the Nighthold raid. While most players that start a newWorld of Warcraftcharacter today won’t experience Suramar unless they’re able to create a Nightborne or they reach near completion inLegion, the allied race associated with the city will spawn in the missed city. Beyond these activities that players could do inWorld of Warcraft’s Nightbornecapital, many fans have also praised its beautiful aesthetic as a reason that Blizzard should eventually revisit it.

AlthoughWorld of WarcraftTimewalkingallows players to experience dungeons and questlines from prior expansions now that the MMO is on its ninth expansion, there’s no big reason to return to Suramar and its monumental city. BecauseWorld of Warcraftis a constantly evolving game with Blizzard releasing expansions yearly in some cases, it’s possible that the developer will find a reason in the future to bring players back to Suramar City.

World of Warcraftis available now for Mac and PC.
