Some newly-discovered voice lines inWorld of Warcrafthave given further hints that a third specialization for Dracthyr Evokers is coming in the future. Though there has been no official confirmation fromWorld of Warcraftthat a third Evoker spec is coming, this recent discovery makes it seem even more likely.Evokers are the newDracthyr-only class added inDragonflight. Like the Demon Hunter hero class added inLegion, Evokers only have two specializations: Devastation for DPS, and Preservation for healing. Most other classes inWorld of Warcrafthave three specializations, save Druid, who had their Feral specialization split in two for a total of four options.RELATED:World of Warcraft Update 10.1 Coming Next Month with New Zone and MoreHowever, some new voice lines found on theWorld of WarcraftPublic Test Realm for Patch 10.1,Embers of Neltharion, seem to point towards a third specialization for Evokers in the near future. The voice lines are spoken by Neltharion himself in what is most likely a flashback or recording of some kind. The voice line makes direct reference to Sarkareth, Viridia, and Emberthal, three of the Dracthyr Scalecommanders. While Sarkareth and Viridia are named as Neltharion’s devastator and preserver respectively, Emberthal is instead charged to use Black Dragonflight magic to strengthen her allies, something not possible with either current Evoker specialization.
The voice line reads as follows:
“You three shall be the examples all Dracthyr will follow. Sarkareth, my devastator, you shall rend your foes with the powers of the Red and Blue Dragonflight. Viridia, my preserver, you shall heal our allies with the graces of Green and Bronze Dragonflights. And Emberthal, you will wield the essence of the Black Dragonflight to augment all those around you with my power. By my command, kneel and obey.”
This isn’t the first evidence players have found pointing to a third Evoker specialization. On a previousbuild of theWorld of WarcraftPTR, players discovered a special Dracthyr-only quest that seemed to indicate the unlock of a third Evoker specialization. According to early quest text, the quest will involve Emberthal and Emberthal dealing with Adamanthia, a black dragon imprisoned by Neltharion for betraying him.
Journals belonging to Adamanthia indicate she was responsible for removing the essence of the Black Dragonflight from the Dracthyr before their own imprisonment. She eventually asked too many questions of Neltharion, who reacted by torturing and imprisoning her. If Dracthyr are given the chance to save Adamanthia, it is possible she could help unlock this missingthird Evoker specialization in the future ofWorld of Warcraft.
Some new Evoker spells and abilities found on the PTR also suggest a third specialization is brewing. Interestingly, these abilities and the new voice lines seem to suggest a more support-oriented class, rather than a tank. There is currently no class dedicated to support inWorld of Warcraft, and theEvoker already has a healingand damage-dealing specialization. Players will have to see what a third Evoker specialization will look like if it ends up coming in the future.
