InWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflightthere are now more options than ever for the Subtlety Rogue’s talent builds. The Talent system has been completely revamped and roughly resembles what we see inWoW Classic. While it brings back old memories, these new talents are even more complex and difficult to decide on a great build.
Best Overall Talent Build for Subtlety Rogues in WoW: Dragonflight
Luckily, Dragonflight comes with a"Starter Build"you can use if you’d like to simply have the game assign you talents to start with. This build is available if you open your talent UI and choose “Starter Build” in the bottom left corner.
You will need to fill out both theRogue Class Talent Treeand theSubtlety Specialization Talent Treewhen choosing talents for your Rogue in WoW Dragonflight. The Rogue Class tree represents a tree that all rogues can use regardless of their specialization. The Subtlety tree will be specific to the Subtlety specialization and only active when you have that specialization chosen.
In this guide, we will go over what we recommend as the best overall talent choices for the Subtlety Rogue’s damage output. As new data and DPS Rankings are gathered, we will add in additional talent builds withspecific targets such as a Meta Raid Talent Build for maximum raid DPS, and PvP talent builds as well.
Dragonflight Rogue Class Talent Build
The Rogue Class Talents herediffer from the Outlaw and Assassination builds, as the play style of the Subtlety Rogue is so different. Here you will go into some important talents such asFind WeaknessandShadow Dance. After all, how can you call yourself a Sub Rogue without Shadow Dance these days?
We’ve chosen the left-side of talents as well for some key damage-improving and critical strike-related talents such asDeadly Precision,Seal Fate, andLethality. Finish it up by addingThistle Teawhich should be more useful thanCold Blood, especially as you will be rocking some high crit chances already.
We’ve left offEchoing Reprimand, but if you really love using it, you can choose it and go further down the middle tree, while taking points away from the left side and out ofSeal Fate. We recommend either centering around Seal FateOREchoing Reprimand, but not both. You want to verify you have enough points for yourShadow Dancetree on the right side.
Dragonflight Subtlety Rogue Talent Raid Build
The main goal of the build below is to stack up and synergize your shadow damage output. Focusing on the end-goal ofDark Brew to increase shadow damage by 10%, you also take many other talents along the way to help synergize with this:
While stacking up these, and also grabbing any talents related toSymbols of DeathandSepsis, the synergy will offer great single-target damage for a raid setting.
Dragonflight Subtlety Rogue Talent AoE Mythic+ Build
If you are looking for a build forMythic+, usually you want to focus a little more on the AoE side of things. In this build we focus mostly on the right-side of talents. Take what you can to stack up that shadow damage still, but remove some of the left-side talents in favor of takingShuriken Storm-related talents to increase your usefulness in these settings.
Finally, at the bottom right of the Talent Menu there are three optional talents. These are Talents used in PvP and don’t have any effect on raid DPS.
