World of Warcraftrecently opened the Vault of the Incarnates raid as a part ofDragonflightSeason 1. After players complete the raid and turn in the quest, “Together We Are Unstoppable,” players get one last cutscene whereWorld of Warcraft’sremaining Aspects Alexstrasza and Nozdormutalk about Iridikron, the eldest, strongest, and most corrupt of the Primal Incarnates. The dragon Aspects believe the recently-freed Primal Incarnates will be more patient than the tempestuous Raszageth was. Alexstrasza then says Iridikron’s mastery of earth will “harbor them and keep them out of our reach,” implying the Primalists will likely take shelter beneath the Dragon Isles.

The hint from the recent cutscene falls in line with evidence thatDragonflightwas going underground in patch 10.1. Several sidequests from across the Dragon Isles suggest the existence of several points of interest beneath the Dragon Isles, including secret passages and relics of Neltharion.World of Warcraftdataminers also discovereda map named “Dragon Isles Underground” with a tag flagging it as a development map for 10.1. This evidence suggests players will be taking the fight to Iridikron’s domain very soon.

Dragonflightseems to be setting up Iridikron similarly to Deathwing, theevil dragon ofWorld of Warcraftinfamy. Like the fallen Aspect, Iridikron has a mastery of earth, and was described as being an embodiment of war who made “terrible bargains” to keep the Primalist cause alive. Alexstrasza believes the other Primal Incarnates don’t know how corrupt he is, similar to how the Aspects were unaware of Deathwing’s betrayal. This could meanWorld of Warcraftplayers could see more parallels between the two villains–especially if Iridikron’s “terrible bargains” involve the Old Gods as Deathwing’s did.

World of Warcraftplayers are intrigued to see whatDragonflightis planningwith the Primal Incarnates. Raszageth was a popular villain for the short time she was around, and Deepholm is largely regarded as one ofCataclysm’smost interesting and aesthetically pleasing zones. IfDragonflightis going underground, Patch 10.1 could have the perfect set-up to be an unforgettable experience.
