Since its launch in January,Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelhas seen a plethora of updates bringing new cards, cosmetics, and solo mode stories to the game. Each monthly season since the game’s release has featured a special event, with past events focusing on summoning mechanics like Synchro and Fusion or deck-building limitations like the N/R Festival. The most recent event for the popular online card game introduced its first competitive-focused event,the Duelist Cup. Now, with the Duelist Cup concluding last weekend, Konami has released its newest Forbidden and Limited List.

Following the conclusion of the Duelist Cup,Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelofficially unveiled its newest changes to the game’s banlist, set to arrive on August 31st.Master Duel’s newest banlist features a collection of five cards being hit with a Forbidden status, meaning players cannot run any copies in their decks. Cards like Imperial Order, Vanity’s Emptiness, and True King of All Calamities all received bans for their overwhelming strength in the game’s format. Others like Number 75: Bamboozling Gossip Shadow and Destiny HERO - Celestial were also hit for their interactions with certain decks.

The newest update toMaster Duel’s banlist also sawfour cards being added to the game’s Limited list, restricting them to one copy per deck. Crossout Designator and Pot of Prosperity received limitations for their generic strength across multiple decks, with Crossout allowing players to negate cards and Prosperity giving draw power. Prank-Kids Meow-Meow-Mu was also limited to one copy due to the strength of the Prank-Kids cards alongside the recently introduced Adventurer cards. The last limited card, Fusion Destiny, lets players summon the powerful Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer.

Alongside the bans and limitations,Master Duel’s newest update alsosaw some cards' restrictions lessenedand some given more minor limitations. The game’s semi-limited list received four new cards as well, with Salamangreat Gazelle and Altergeist Multifaker increasing to two copies per deck. Night Assailant was also released from the game’s Forbidden and Limited List, due to a change to its card text updating its effect. Fire Formation - Tenki and Skill Drain also saw minor hits with the banlist update, moving from three copies to two.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel’s newest update comes as the game has received a torrent of new cards throughout recent months. Konami has consistently added new packs to the game each month, bringing with them a variety ofpowerful cards forMaster Duelplayersto slot into their decks.Master Duelhas also given players more ways to experience the game in recent updates with the introduction of the Casual Match and the previously-mentioned Duelist Cup. The newest banlist from Konami will look to balance the popular online card game as it moves past its first competitive event.
