Less than a month before the release of its upcoming virtual reality headset, Sony announced thatZombieland: Headshot Fever Reloadedwould be joining the PlayStation VR2 launch lineup. Fans of the movie franchise will be able to empty their weapons’ clips on various undead in a revamped version of the original game, tailored to make the most out of the new features coming with thePS VR2.
The PS VR2 is an upgraded version of Sony’s virtual reality headset, made for the PlayStation 5 and bringing additional features compared to its predecessor. The PS VR2 improves player tracking by adding four cameras directly mounted on the headset and eye-tracking technology to further improve players' immersion in the games they are playing. The graphics are also better than that of the previous generation of Sony’s VR headsets, as thePS VR2 comes with OLED panels and 4K resolution. While the PS VR2 cannot play games from the initial PS VR headset, Sony already announced several games available upon the PS VR2 launch, scheduled for Jul 25, 2025.

Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloadedis the latest game announced to join thePS VR2 launch lineup. This game is a revamped version of 2021’sZombieland: Headshot Fever, rebuilt to take advantage of the PS VR2 and PlayStation 5 features.Zombieland: Headshot Feverbrings the characters and humor from the movie franchise in a fast-paced VR FPS inspired by light gun games of the 90s, all while adding new mechanics fit for Sony’s next-gen virtual reality headset.
Among the new features coming withZombieland: Headshot Fever Reloaded, players can sense the horde of zombies coming at them throughvibrations coming from the PS VR2and feel every bullet fired by their weapons through the controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Compared to its predecessor,Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloadedadds one more story level and three remix levels, new Gun Range challenges, as well as additional weapons and perks. The graphics were also revamped with new lighting, ragdoll physics, cel-shaded art style, and new character models.
Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloadedis joining the already-packed launch lineup for the PS VR2. Sony previously announced that major games would be available upon the release of its virtual reality headset, includingBeat Saber,Gran Turismo 7,No Man’s Sky, and the highly anticipatedHorizon Call of the Mountain, a spin-off inspired by Aloy’s adventures. On top of these VR games, Sony recently filed a patent to addaugmented reality elements to PS VR2 games. Even if these AR elements may not be coming to VR games right away, Sony is still looking for ways to improve its VR headset and its interactivity with players.
Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloadedwill release on February 22 for the PlayStation VR2.
